Yahoo admits defeat at the hands of Google. So has Google won the search war? I’m not sure. It sure looks like. It seems lately that Google can do very little wrong. Time will tell on that statement. And I wonder how far away some antitrust litigation is for Google. The company seems to becoming all things to all people. Again, time will tell with that.
On the other hand, Yahoo, who seems to have spent their time and energy swooping in and picking up companies and technologies that will further what they currently offer. Khoi Vinh has a post about the current Yahoo Mail beta, and how it is a really enhanced and improved version on web-based email. The takeaway on this is, it seems like Yahoo is settling into what it knows it’s strengths to be and letting Google do it’s own thing.
