30 Boxes

I just signed up for a 30 Boxes account. I am anxiously awaiting Mozilla’s integration of their email client and a robust calendaring system (if anyone knows anything about this, please let me know). I think if I depended on calendar functionality I’d be forced to use Outlook. I don’t rely heavily on a digital calendar so i’m free to use Thunderbird. Phew… All that to say, I came across 30 Boxes and I thought I’d at least take a look at it. Now it definitely falls into the Web 2.0 camp. Which is fine.

On first blush, it seems to be pretty worthwhile. They have tapped into a lot of popular web destinations (mySpace, flickr, etc.) so users are able to integrate their existing online experiences with their 30 Boxes calendar. I’m not totally sure that I’ll use it too much. I really like my personal information located in one spot (traditionally my email client). So we will see how often I venture back to 30 Boxes to use my calendar.

What are some of your experiences with 30 Boxes or any other calendar program?

I just signed up for a 30 Boxes account, based on your recommendation. I am always open for new “web 2.0″ applications.

Personally, I am anxiously awaiting Google’s Calendar program, which should tie in directly with Gmail, which I use anyway.

But 30 Boxes might even be better. We’ll see…

I saw on Digg today that Mozilla is moving forward with Lightning, which is a Calendar app that’s integrated with Thunderbird. I’ve heard good things about Google’s calendar app too. It will be interesting to see which app takes the lead, or if they all will kind of be able to live together?
